I wish i had never learned what those words mean.

About 5 weeks ago Judge hurt his knee. It wan on the right track to getting better but then it halted.... I had taken him to the vet clinic for initial review but Judges regular doctor was not in; soon to find out that he doesn't work there any longer- great. Well they pretty much say that he has some kind of injury and to watch it for a while. .......... this leads us to today.

I googled stalked Judges Vet and found him at Hometown Animal clinic in Pflugerville on 685, Dr Matt Hamby. AMAZING doctor!

He went in this morning for sedation, torture, and X-Rays. It came back as a Luxating Patella. AKA the knee cap has become dislocated and needs to be reattached through SURGERY.

I am getting nervous and excited at the same time... we have so much going on right now! here are a few:
*Dan is transferring to a new store with a *pay raise* Yea!!!
*We are packing to move... for a short time we will be at Dan's parents and then we will....
*BUY A HOUSE!!!
*Our puppy Judge is Turning one :)
*And we just bought Dan a new, NEW car!!

In addition to all this i decided to make the living room sewing central... so its a HUGE MESS!

we are very excited for the new things to come. We have been wanting a change in life for a while.... so here are a bunch of them! (*with a little hope* maybe my next post ill add a baby to the list...)

I will try and post some pictures soon!
Life is crazy right now, but i want to have a Birthday Party for Judge... so Ill post about that in a few weeks.

I would like to thank my mom for letting me use her sewing machine while mine is in the shop!! Also thank my sisters & mom for the furniture donations. The only thing i have purchased is the cradle and the fabric.

dont mind the mess... :)

Old crib was the blond color. The rocker was a similar color. All the furniture that will be (one day not soon) baby furniture is all going to be this Antique White. I have a small bookshelf and a end table to paint still.

They are white because i am waiting for a "set" to paint after they are primed.

My mom gave this to me. It was a dirty old ugly white thing on its way to goodwill.... I added the fabric.

Drug this cradle home from a resale store for 40 dollars. It was a pink-ish-blonde. PUKE! I painted it to match the rocking chair since the rocker is in the living room and this would not be in the imaginary nursery anyways.

The crib sheet fabrics. The crib sheets are cotton. The cradle sheets (not shown/ not made) are flannel. Since you are no longer advised to use a bumper pad any longer and the quilt that comes with is is useless, i have decided to not waste my money. Ill be making each sheet for about 5-8 dollars and with all the scraps (in about a year lol) ill be using them to make a matching quilt.

New chair... At this point i have not sewn the bottom cushion. Ill update the picture as soon as i charge up my camera again!! and ill add a picture of the finished stool next to it.

Stool is still drying from the last coat of paint. Here is the top though. I replaced the foam too.

I have been so busy!!! Self proclaimed busy- not necessarily anything i have to do. I decided a while ago that before i get pregnant [again] I want to have the crib, dresser, changing table, and this basket shelve thing i have all to match. SO.. I have been working on that! At first i did not love any of it really. It was all just necessities that i picked up before i miscarried. WELL... Now, I am in love! I love my baby furniture!!! It all matches (well its almost all done- here and there things), and each piece i finish i take so much pride!

If you start wondering and thinking "why is she doing all this baby stuff" NO I AM NOT PREGNANT!! LOL. I just had some big painting projects to get done, and it didnt look DONE to me until I finished with all the sewing to go with it.

(pictures to come-- sorry no before shots; I didnt take any because it looked like crap-- well duh!! I wish NOW i had before and afters!! oh well, maybe next time)

What I have done:
*basket shelve thing- painted, fixed and lined the baskets.
*Made 3 basket linings with no pattern
*Dresser, primed and painted
*1/3 Baby crib. Sanded, twice primed, twice painted
*Broke down ugly glider rocking chair- painted 2 coats.
*broke down and painted "thrift store vintage" bassinet/ Swinging cradle.

Projects purchased and waiting...
*Cushions for glider rocker
*Paint glider foot stool (because i forgot it had one)
*FINISH CRIB! Big project, Dan is a saint and is helping!!
*have fabric for baby crib sheets. 7 of them.
*make and sew Cradle pad & sheets.

I am going to look like this again!

I am so excited to say that I am running again! I love the feeling of a good workout. Im obviously not where i want to be in terms of size and fitness level; but hey, you gotta start somewhere!

I am happier now than i have been in a long time. Dan and i are more in love than i think we have ever been! I have so much to be thankful for! Our families are so supportive of us.. we are truly a blessed couple.

I dont know when ill look like my old self again. Im not publishing any goals (yet). I am not avoiding the possibly of a pregnancy (but im not hard core trying either)- SO... Maybe in 4 months... maybe in 9 months plus 4 months... i don't know. What i do know is it sure feels good to hit the gym a-g-a-i-n!

Before baby Judge (heh our second dog) came into our lives I had resumed the roll of EXERCISE! In about 4months lost about 35 lbs. and won eighty dollars in my at work challenge. Of course in the last 6 months about 11 of that came back on.... currently -ideally- i do want to resume back to this picture from February 07; BUT im setting no time goals. Just and ONLY gym goals. I will keep you posted on how i am doing!

Last time, and the time before, and before, even back when i lived with Kylene, I just hit the ground running. THIS TIME THOUGH: I have decided to follow the 5K running schedule that I did back in high school. So far (week one) has been easy and great! Im keeping my head up and positive thinking to the future!

Back to Dan & I. ...
I think its amazing how everything falls into place in life. last night Dan and i laid with our heads on our pillows looking at each other, sweetly, softly talking to each other until 3am!!!!! Oh how good that feels!!!!! I Know that no matter what happens. No matter what (or when) size i am, that i am blessed and have one hundred million reasons to be happy! I have everything i need in Dan, and that's enough for me!

Well, not to make it 100% anti-climatic or anything... but what happened is:

After we confronted Brandon about needing to pay half the money they went into (what seemed like) hiding!!! They completely avoided us. ....

.... THEN...... My mom had to go to my house to pick up something for me for work ... & low and behold THEY ARE MOVING OUT!!!!!!!!!! I called the office and she said "What? they are breaking there lease!". I dont think they "ran" because of us; but this was on the 8th and Rent was probably w-a-y past due... Maybe they had to run before being evicted??

I dont know... I just know, One day, happy old neighbors. Then the dog bite and out of no where in about 3 hours they were gone.

The end. Judge is fine. The money is long paid and forgotten. :) to better times!

Well, in short; I was torn about confronting my neighbor........ UNTIL i found out that the month before last, Zoey had bitten another dog!!!!!!!!!

That changed my mind. Before i could make myself drop it. I was very emotionally involved and wanted to keep our neighborly friendship. BUT.... Then i found out about the other bite, It was the missing link. The piece to the puzzle.

We teach people how to treat us, and *IF* as a whole, our apartment complex, We tech them (Brandon & Crystal)that there dog can go around biting other dogs AND THAT NO ONE will do anything about it.... then we have done a disservice to the wrold and to them.

They need to be held accountable. As of last night it was not about me, my feelings, my friendships with them... its about what is RIGHT. About teaching them responsibility.

**SO** just now. 30 seconds ago, i was armed with my photos, a copy of the paperwork and bill.... And i said, " we were not intending on having our dog bitten; Looking at this situation as a piece of property, our property has been damaged and we do believe you are responsible for it.... NOW, we understand crap happens; so we are willing to meet YOU halfway *IF* you can not pay the whole bill.

Enough said. I said and did everything i was intending to do from the beginning, i just now had enough logic and reasoning to push me in the right direction.

Judge got bitten by our next door neighbors female dog today. His face is pretty beat up, and his head is in a cone... but he will be alright.

The scoop:
Dan took Judge to the courtyard to go potty. Our neighbor & his dog approached them. While Dan and Brandon were chatting the other dog, Zoey and judge were sniffing each other.

Dan was in a squatting position holding Judges collar. Zoey just bit his face out of no where. Our neighbors and his wife were distraught and yelling/panicking.

Dan took Judge to the animal hospital... when he came home he went to talk to the neighbors.... they didn't offer to pay anything and kept saying "this is just an unfortunate accident!!"; I think they were scared that we were going to report them to Management or to Williamson County.

I filed a report with the police in the animal department but requested no action to be taken. I don't our neighbors or Zoey to be "punished" in any way, I only want them to pay for the medical bills from today. [... Is that too much to ask??] Tomorrow i am going to take some pictures and a copy of the bill over to them. Hopefully they will just pay for it and not complain. They are lucky it is ONLY Two Hundred Dollars. If he had had stitches it would have been more!!

Jude is acting like he has PTSD, but i think he will recover just fine. Our front porch, dan, and the Vet clinic looked like he had been slaughtered - but thats just because facial injuries bleed A LOT!

I am thankful for my dogs! I love them so much and they bring me endless joy into my life!

I am also so thankful for Dan, My sweet groom that married me and saved my life 2.5 years ago.

I would be no where with out my family! All of them. I love them with all my heart!

I am thankful for my job at Mesa Hills Salon. I am truly happy there. I love LOVE love my co workers! Lauri, Angel, Anita, and Elane. They are the best bunch of ladies that i could have asked to be apart of! I am very happy with my career as well, i get endless happienss form my Job! Im thrilled that my clients love me, and I in return love them too!

God, Jesus, & the Holy Ghost. I would be no where and no one with out my belief in them. The church & my belief as a Christian helps keep my life in sync with god, Together, Dan & I can strive to be as one; to complete our journey here on earth to the best of our capabilities.

Every November like clockwork I get "sick". It starts with the allergies, head cold, sore throat, mucus, all the good stuff! This year i started on the Clairatin for allegories... and that helps BUT of course i didn't prevent enough... so on trip to the doctor later; i had a left inner-ear infection and my left sinus was clogged/infection. The doctor told me to take Mucinex DM, the DM is for your cough. I was confused because i didn't have a cough, but i did have a horrid sore throat!

This was a lifesaver!!!!!!!!!!

once my symptoms cleared i continued taking the Mucinex DM because my throat was still sore but because i didn't need the Mucinex any longer i switched to the BEST PRODUCT I HAVE EVER FOUND...............drum roll.........

Delsym. I have a new best friend!.

This cough suppressant is what i have been looking for my whole life! it actually works and tastes good! I absolutely refuse to take anything liquid!!!!!!!! or anything that i have to add to water and drink hot!!!!!! I am a weenie when it comes to bad tastes or pain!!!!

If you do not have Delsym in your cabinet, you should!!!!!!!!!!!

Here are some pictures of Judge, our new puppy!!

He is 17 and 18 days old in these pictures. We "rescued" him from the idiot that took the puppy's away from its mother too early. At fist we were feeding him every 2 to 3 hours, Now we have figured out that he (and us) prefer to eat more (about 3-4oz) less often.... so with the "new" schedule he eats 6 times a day (every 4 hours)! We have our work cut out for us; but lucky for me being a hairstylist and i make my own hours - I can feed at 5, 9, 1 and dan is home to do the 5, 9, and 1 feedings. We are learning a lot about what it takes to be a puppy mother (both of us). We are always heating up this thing that we put with it to stay warm, feeding it, and teaching him how to go potty. He is learning how to walk, his eyes are still developing, we are hearing the beginnings of his bark- mostly still its a cry, and his side "nurser teeth" have come in. He drinks formula from a bottle, he sleeps most of the day only getting up to play and eat. He has gained about half a pound in 2 days so that fantastic! He is a half and half mix; both pure bread, Old English Bulldog & American Staffordshire Terrier (Pit Bull).

At 16 days old (Thursday) he measured:
just under 3 pounds
neck 8.5 inches
chest 10.5 inches
Length 11.5 inches
Paw 3 inch around.

My Friend and Client April is having a baby (well, thats her due date) the same day that I was suppose to have my baby before i miscarried. When I was pregnant we just KNEW it was going to be a girl; so when my friend April told me she was having a girl -it hit me in the gut. "She is having MY BABY!" is what went through my head. That night I told Dan, we discussed that since I LOVE to knit, that I should make her a baby blanket. IT WORKED!!! It totally turned my jealousy into love and I am SO SO SO happy for April and Reagan to have there little girl! T

hat same day I talked to Dan, she had happened to tell me her baby colors. Pink, cream and a touch of black.

The other day we got a new fish since our last fish Flint who relaced Flint which replaced the origional flint tragically died.

Our new fish is Dexter. Here he is in his home... only he is actually 'IN' his home at the moment so you cant see him. He is blue with fluttery fins. He is very pretty!

SO we went to IKEA, to buy THIS LAMP:

to go next to our fish tank. It was 8:58 when we pulled up and RAN to the door. The man inside says "ummm you do know its 8:59!??!?" I said YES but we are only grabbing one item SUPER FAST (sort of true, sort of a lie). So i grab Dan by the hand and we race through IKEA (which by the way is much, much, MUCH, longer than we thought it was... so we run to the lamps. I see the one i want... THERE ARE NONE LEFT!!! UGG what am i going to do??

WELL Ill tell you what i did... Being ME (and if you know me well this wont surprise you in the least) I stuck my hand in between the holes on the display shelves, un plugged it and pulled the cord out from under the plastic clips that were nailed into the shelve; holding the cord down. he heh

It had the WRONG lamp shade on it so... in a hurry I unscrew the like fifteen dollar halogen forever lasting bulb- fumble it out of my hands like a bad play, and it SHATTERS on the floor. The worker on the isle over didnt look - i grab Dan and we RUN!

At the checkout i get an employee, she comes over and i say "um this lamp doesnt have a price tag on it" Looking at the large plastic hanging tags (that are on all display items at ikea) she [really annoyed] says "um... that because this is the DISPLAY!!" so i say, "well can i buy it, its the last one...well can i?? can i?? Its the only one left".

(I swear-- Ive never seen anyone so annoyed!! Its not like i unplugged it and ripped it off the shelve or anything!?!! she acts as if I even broke the bulb that was in it too.. some people are so rude!!) lol

So she SUPER ANNOYED cuts the tags off and rings it up. All at 9:15, im sure she just wanted us to leave!

But i got my LAMP!!

My mom took us to see Annie on Broadway (here in Austin).

You know how coke and diet coke taste nothing alike??? -Well, this was "Diet Annie"!

Ill have to post pictures when i get them from my mom... It was really a fun night! We even got Annie Tee Shirts. Rachael threw a fit that my mom "LET" Lindsey and I buy one too! but she is only 8 (if you ask her eight and a half!!!) so its ok.

Why was Annie diet???
Miss Hanagen was FAT for one. and instead of being a sloppy drunk she was excessively mean. (blah, that was a bad change in the script!)and she didn't wear lingerie or long pearls.

Annie didnt have curly hair until the last scene.

"Dumb Dog" was removed and Daddy Warbux gave her the dog in the end -- which was retarded since he hated that dog.

and a bunch of little things that dont "really" matter. Like her coat being pink not red... etc... things like that ...

ALL IN ALL it was REALLY FUN being with my mom and my sisters! I had a good night seeing a good play about a little orphan going to live with a billionaire -Just not Annie-.

When I miscarried, I just thought the best.... There's a good reason for this, Now i have more time to loose weight, Now we have "more" money...

Some how none of those logical things pop into my mind when I open my e-mail and POP; Just like a Porn site, without giving me a chance to close it, Someone close to me is PREGNANT. Yea... I guess I just was NOT ready for a 'life size' ultrasound to POP into my face.

Thats when my heart stops. And I remember, "I do care". At least I have my new shoes!

After the surgery today I have had great peace when I think about the LOVE that Heavenly Father has for us.

Here are my thoughts I have been having - and i don't think that they have been caused by the drugs:

I feel like Heavenly father has a plan for all of us as his children. I also believe that He follows the natural Laws of nature, science, and physics.

I have had great peace in my heart (and so has Dan) that WE KNOW that heavenly Father has a baby that he is blessing us with; I don't believe at all that just because I miscarried that he would take that blessing away.

I believe that this baby because of science & nature somehow malformed, but that our baby is still waiting, and we will still receive those blessings that Heavenly Father has in store for us... God just has to follow Nature & science -- and when science doesn't malform next time, Our baby will be on its way!

Its better to pull the Band-Aid off quickly!

Wednesday evening i had sharp cramps (more than just growing pains) and had a little spotting. Since Im sure you knew I was 10 weeks pregnant, you probably already know what this post is all about and I could just stop there.

Most people cant believe it and wonder how this could have happened. Here is what i would tell you if I were talking to you:

I have to have a D&C surgery procedure on tomorrow on Friday and ill be recovering through the weekend so i wont be at church on Sunday, and i rescheduled all this week's work until Tuesday. Im not great in the way of endless sorry's and hugs in a public place, So im glad i wont be at church on Sunday! Lots of friends have texted or e-mailed me and my family got me a very beautiful plant. All this has been wonderful today since Ive cried and cried ... and cried.

I know this is Natures way of taking care of any problems that arise during the pregnancy, and that heavenly father has a plan for Dan and I; and it involves healthy babies!

Looking back i maybe should have been worried...... I took a pregnancy test (that work at 2 weeks conceived) and went to the doctor at 2.5 weeks conceived. He said everything blood work wise looks good but there not sure how far along i am...but i knew i was 2.5 weeks conceived (4.5 pregnant).
At what i thought would be 9 weeks pregnant he said, there is a good heart beat but you are only 7 weeks pregnant / (5 weeks conceived). .... Thinking about it now, that means my at home pregnancy test would have had to say positive when i was only 2 days conceived, not even expecting my missed period for 12 days. .... SO I know in my heart that something was wrong with the baby and when i think of it in those terms i am not sad and i feel heavenly fathers love for us!!

Today at my appointment (by the doctors terms assuming i was only 7 weeks the last time) the baby should have measured 9.5 weeks but after this last 2 1/2 weeks it only measured 8 weeks AND I was spotting and cramping! And the big deal, NO HEART BEAT. None to be found at all.

...8 weeks in an what i know to be a 12 (or 10) week pregnancy. Either way you do the math i know somewhere deep down that it is better this way. It doesn't take away the sadness, but I know it is better. I am looking up and looking at the brite side. Im sure everything will be just fine. I know its tough but Its really just a disappointment more than anything, I feel as if it was "so hard" for me to get pregnant and now i have to start over.

I know that is not true though. It was not "so hard" for me. We only tried for 4 months.... some people have it way worse than I have.

Things will get better! I know 'it' will happen again. Thanks for your love and friendship!!

First i googled my name, then Dans name, then out of sheer boredom I googled "Merideth and Dan" not much came back but i did come across this....

The elegant announcement and invitation was white with a dry embossed "double door" opening, wrapped with a satin bow in a soft blue {slightly aqua} colored ribbon and was so beautiful. Using some of my Loves Me patterned papers which were on my desk from Lindsey's birthday party invitations, I created this card for the soon-to-be newlyweds. I finally added that picture that - I KNOW- you have been waiting for. I used this one even though i look amazingly unattractive and i work very hard every day to loose the 60LBS of ugly fat that i have gained from the joys of marriage. On the up side, my eyes look amazingly green!

Bonsai ~ Trial 1

So... I decided today that I would fulfill every child's dream (at least every child who has seen Karate Kid) of having my own Bonsai Tree. It will be my new hobby/pet. Everyone who has grown a bonsai tree says that it is a very personal experience and I hope to gather the same experience with my own bonsai tree.

Now, I have not yet in my life been known to have a green thumb. I am sure that several little trees are going to fail, hence the trail 1. But, I want to keep trying until I am able to succeed (in other words, if one dies I will probably buy another one!).

I am going to try and keep the blog updated with the progress of my Bonsai.

Dan came home from work so tired (as he frequently does from me keeping him up late) and he had brought me one of my favorite presents -- Gummy Bears! He came in with them and crashed on the bed. I went in to talk with him and couldn't resist the urge....

Dan is so sweet to me all the time! He always is being super patient and is always thinking of me! We've been married a 15months now and he still makes time to cuddle every night and bring me flowers!

Yesterday when i got home i walked in to a seeming normal house and out of no where totally joking [to Dan] i said "hi to my husband who didn't bring me flowers today" and i gave him a kiss! He says "yeah no..." and then reached his hand back onto a book shelve behind the corner and -- what do you know --- He had freekin brought me flowers!!!

I love my husband so much! I just have to brag about him a little! In return for all the super sweet things he does fo me; I bake him lots of goodies!! This week he got 2 kinds of lemon bars (i was comparing), 2 chocolate cakes (I was comparing again) and a Pecan Pie (because he asked for one)

Oh and by the way.... If you want the best ever pecan pie just take your old fashion Pecan pie recipe and where it calls for 1 cup corn syrup SUBSTITUTE IT for 1/2 Cup Pure maple syrup and 1/2Cup Dark Corn syrup!

Makes an absolute delish dessert! Eat it with coffee ice cream if you want to keel over from absolute goodness!

Yea! We sold our chairs tonight! Now we just have the couch to go!!! Our plan was to ditch the chairs (for a large amount of money) and just have a couch. Our home was WAY to small for all that furniture.

Next we want to replace the Tan Leather couch with a comfy fabric BRAN-SPANKIN-NEW sofa! I cant wait until Dan and I can make a "we" purchase for "our" furniture together. Yea! Married life is so much fun!!

So Its been a while since my scrap booking stuff has been put to good use. Well I started making cards and making cute gift wrap on presents instead. Scrap booking is just to time consuming and costly!!!

Well I'm trying to find some junk for Lindsey (my sister) to Craig's list for me.... Well Naturally instead of getting rid of all my junk- I have all these new found "treasures" that I just absolutely can not part with!! (LOL)

Card making and Gift wrap is a great hobbie for me too. They all consist of quick to fairly quick projects and each one gets to be completely different. I also need to have something for me to do in the evenings while Dan is "at school" (aka on the computer studying); so these "mini" projects are perfect to squeeze in after work and before dinner! I'm very glad i got carried away with all this - so much so that i booted the futon out the door and set up a whole craft center (or well, at least a Card making/ gift wrapping center).

Here are some of my latest designs. I'm very proud of them!! [so much so, I almost don't want to give them away!! :) But i will, I love to hear people gush over me!]

So Bed Bath & Beyond coupons are a hot commodity in my life. It seams like every where I go there are people wanting them or asking if I have them. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Bed Bath & Beyond; and so I collect all the coupons I can get my hands on. Well this is what makes today so special....! I went to throw something away in my apartment mail center's trash can and what do you know...???.... I went dumpster diving and found 23 20%OFF Coupons and 28 spent $30 get $10OFF coupons!

WOWAH! Can you believe it!??!! Im so happy! I never have to pay full price ever again! Now here's the ketch; BBB takes expired coupons, so that's not a problem - its just they only take 5 with each purchase. So, I stand in line and purchase things 5 at a time!

Ha! Man... the things I'll do for 20%OFF, Its crazy!

The Penny Update

Ok so she made it through... However she does have pneumonia. Shes on antibiotics for 7 days; so they say she'll be just fine!

Ok so this is pretty disgusting; but here it goes!

My parents went out of town and so Dan and I were going over to look after Penny , the guinny pig. Well everything was going ok until today. I pick up penny and put her in her little bed thing that she plays in and set her on the floor; i went out to check the mail and do a few things and go to pick her up again. Well to my horrifying amazement, my eyes focus on her right eye... its not moving -my eyes do that cross focus thing and then, Bulah-bulah-Im trying to contain my stomach contents from actually coming out of my throat; and I scream for Dan.

Poor Penny's eye was egged shaped and bulging out of her head. Her eye looked like it had popped inside itself, meanwhile it was streaming puss, blood, -- something down her face. (I took pictures on my cell phone, but fortunately for your sake they did not get saved)

Anyways. I call Mom. She has Dan and I take Penny up to the vet. We call with the prognosis: "Dad", I said. "The eye has to come out; and penny will live another 10 years- shes young for a guinny pig. OR she can take her chances and may or may not live, the eye should fall out on its own in 3 months or so. OR its 31.50 to put her down." Just as Dad answers with "humm, 31.50 sounds good" you hear this screech of terror in the background; - one similar to a mother who has just horrifically lost her child in a tragic accident. I hang up.

Dad calls me back after they have pulled off the road from traveling home, Mom is in the back consoling her poor 7 year old child. "Oh ok he says, if they can pull the eye for a hundred dollars; Ill keep the pig". Now the vet is very kind and is overly humane for animals - it is obvious that his primary concern is to save gods creatures - and he agrees to do the eye removal for a hundred dollars. He says he is going to use this as an opportunity to teach his vet student a thing or two.

As we were leaving all our info for the front desk the receptionists says, "Well you can tell your little sister that she can re-name Penny, "Winkie" " Oh my gosh! Dan and I were laughing so tears came to our eyes!

So now we wait...... They say that because she is so tiny there is a possibility that Penny wont make it off the operating room table. They also tell us that there is a possibility of blindness in her 'good' eye because of swelling and infection; but not to worry because she doesn't have to go far to get food or to use the bathroom -being that she lives in a cage.

Poor Penny! Why do these kind of things have to happen to me when were pig sitting?!!?!??

21 days and counting

So here it is; we have reached July. its about as hot as i think it could possibly get (knowing that it is going to just get even hotter) and just as we think things are starting to look up for us... we get a flat tire. UN-Lucky for Dan it is the hottest part of the day. on Sunday. in July.

Now, i know that this is not a huge problem, things of this nature are fairly normal and we all expect them sooner or later. I guess for us- today- it was sooner. Being that we are about to wrap up our first year of marriage; quote " the hardest year", I find myself looking forward to year number two! I'm excited that in just 21 days the "hardest year" will be just behind us hopefully along with the financial difficulties, stress, and the flat tire.

I'm naturally inclined to be freaking out right about now -having a flat tire was all but anything that we were hoping for- but I'm not. For some reason I'm smiling happily. I am in good spirits; you see to me, this flat tire is just the last hurtle that Satan can throw our way. Dan and I know that we have each other and we have the lord. I have to chuckle to myself and say, "Golly Satan, this is not enough to get me down!".

So there it is... 21 days and we will have faithfully succeeded to our first year. As for right now, nothing can get in my way of being happy!

Gingerbread Flood

Un-fortunately our Gingerbread House had a flood last night, caused by a large cup of milk that was dumped over by accident. Yes it was very sad, and as the gingerbread soaked up all the milk that went racing through it; the candy became detached and when we touched the house to try and save it, it fell apart.

I know you are in shock and a bit of dismay, but there is always next year. And for this Christmas, our Gingerbread House must live forever on in our hearts.

For Family Home Evening Dan brought home a Gingerbread house for us to decorate.... we were off to a really good start and having a lot of fun!

Dan decorated the walk way and i put up the fence.

It was so funny.... First the right side wall of our gingerbread home fell in; and then I frosted the wrong angle of our chimney!

We had no problem licking off the icing and starting over.... Yummy!

Can you tell who icing who? I did Mrs. Gingerbread Lady and Danny decorated Mr. Gingerbread Man.

...Yes Dan gave Mr. Gingerbread Man a pig nose.... and I don't know why.

For whatever reason we decided against using the pre-cut hole for the Christmas tree and we put a Christmas Tree Stand on it using a extra candy mint. Dan held it until we thought that the icing was dry; but yet it still slowly fell over. Dan and I were determined to be smarter than the candy tree cookie, so "glued" a match stick to the back as a beam to hold it in place! It worked great!!!

Wallah! Our house is compete.... all but the candy mint hat that Dan later added to Mr. Gingerbread Man.

We are having so much fun this year!!

Adventuring?

Life is good so far. I think that my wife is wonderful. She just endured two weeks of lying and scheming to throw me a wonderful suprise birthday party. She invited all of my friends and family in the area and then some couples from the ward for us to get to know. I'd like to make note of a few special guests: Stacey, who drove from Houston and let us host the party at her place, and Lindsey and Joseph, who drove from Johnson City just to spend like an hour with me for my birthday.
To thank my wife for throwing me such a nice party I took her out shopping to her favorite shoe store, Bandolino. She pulled out about 6 or 7 different pairs of shoes to try on and finally made her selection of which one was her favorite shoe. The problem. It was an open heeled shoe and she looked at her feet and decided that she had ugly heels. She ran out of the store crying and I followed her out to our car. I calmed her down and told her how pretty her feet are and how beautiful her ankles are. Then, I told her I had to run into another store and buy something for school (a lie!!) and I went and not only purchased the shoe she wanted, but I bought two of them including a very trendy black and white pair that she has worn non-stop for 6 days.

What can I say? I love my wife.

November: Our Life, By Merideth

Up coming on four months now I can honestly say that I married the bust guy possible! Dan is so amazing to me and he always says the right things [or at least most of the time]! Married life is going wonderful for us!!! It’s hard to me to manage my time though. I’m always trying to do too much at once. I would love to hang out with my friends again, I think about them often; but whenever I have the chance to or any free time available I only want to be with my hubby Dan!

Most of our days would be considered pretty boring to you; but for us there pretty exciting. Mostly we eat a nice meal together and go outside for walks. I love to bake and cook- so the walks become pretty important!! We enjoy hanging out with Dan's brother Tom. I think Tom enjoys my baking too.... he usually profits from the leftover that we leave for him at his house.

Yesterday Dan was NOT looking forward to completing my mission! Mission: Men’s Wear House I was on a quest and nothing was stopping me! Story: Just before our wedding everyone purchased new suits. Dan and I purchased two of them as well. Well a long story short, the pushy sales guy sold us one that was a size too small- then he had it let out to fit. Well then, I started my usual complaining. I that was embarrassing Dan, but we were not about to pay a Thousand Dollars for suits that I WAS NOT HAPPY ABOUT THAT AT ALL! Well we settled on the suits and I shut-up for the time being and we paid and went home. (So of course when it came time to pick up the suits, I was not there to throw a royal fit…..)
[Ok jumping into yesterday] For three months now every Sunday Dan puts his suit on and the suit looks horrible on him. Then I roam around the apartment expressing my vast dislike for this thing the pushy sales man sold us. Then Dan becomes upset because “his wife thinks he looks stupid.... etc...” So, yesterday I Drag Dan (reluctantly) in from the parking lot and into the store with suit in hand. I promptly ask for the manager. I explain to her my vast dislike for this suit that we purchased; and before I could continue on my explanation of how much I disliked the pushy sales man George, she already had another suit on order. [WOW] I was surprised at how accommodating she was!! I don’t know if it had anything to do with a quiet store full of people and then this man with his irritate wife came in; or maybe that’s just their store policy. So in the end, I won and no more ‘bad Sunday’s’ All I’m really concerned about it that my husband can finally wear the suit that we bought him almost four months ago.... (one point for me, I win that challenge)

On a different note: I am LOVING my new job! It’s really nice to go to work somewhere you really want to be!!! The verbal response to my move is great from my clients! They love it almost as much as me!! Most of my clients have followed me, I did have a slow week but that was to be expected.

Other than that there’s not a whole bunch going on right now..... but you have my word, you will be updated and I’ll post a lot of pictures!!

It was everything we could have imagined! My dress was PERFECT Dan's tux was just right and our friends and family came to join us! Daniel & I were happily sealed for time and all of eternity to each other and our future children on July 27th 2007.

Finally! Oh where do we begin? It all seams to have gone by in such a rush! It seams like these days everyone has one of these blogs to keep family and friends in touch. I admit i have done MySpace and Facebook and now we [by we I do mean ME] Dan and I are joining the blog world too.

To be truthful I really don't exactly know how this all works but when I get it all figured out I plan on adding first our wedding photos followed by other memories that you may be interested in. I do apologize if this has been too boring .... I hope you enjoy!!
